In Turkish, “Rüya” means “dream” .. and little Rüya that I knew as a child has grown up to fulfill the dreams of not only her musically talented father, grandfather and aunts but also the dreams of her generation to prove themselves in their own fields all over the world… for some, this is a national aspiration for asserting their inalineable rights in freedom and equality, for others love of humanity and a desire for a world full of the music of compassion, forgiveness friendship and peace. Rüya has chosen the latter road to self-assertion and in so doing she has also taken care of the rights of her people.

I have no doubt that Rüya will go a long way in proving her superb talents and capabilities as a pianist. On behalf of all of us I wish her good luck and the best in everything for years to come.

As a long time organizer, dramaturgy manager of the festival and human who understands how to play the piano, I have to express my deep concern to interpretational niveau of the pianist Rüya Taner. Brilliant, with enormous sense for melody, technically perfect played and absolute knowledge of songs, which she interpreted – Sonata for Violin and Piano in F, No. 5 ‘Spring’ Op. 24 Ludvig van Beethoven and Sonata for Violin and Piano in A (César Auguste Franck), in her performance convinced us that we had an opportunity to see unique appearance. This is the only way how to characterize her performing mastership.

….Rüya Taner transcended technical and virtuoso complexity of Grieg’s Piano Concerto. It has been a performance of reference, profound, full of lyricism and musicianship…..
